I have been performing professionally on the marimba since 2012, which gives me 14 years of professional performance experience by 2026. Over the years, I have performed at weddings, private functions, restaurants, live events, and public spaces, building a deep love for sharing the sound of the marimba with different audiences. I have also achieved more than 2,000 hours of live performance experience, with my longest busking session lasting four hours.
Teaching is one of the biggest parts of my life. I have been teaching professionally since 2013, giving me 13 years of professional teaching experience by 2026. During that time, I have taught thousands of lessons and worked with students of many different ages and skill levels. I currently teach over 70 students a week across 7 schools, and I love what I do.
I am a marimba teacher at Mobile Music Academy, a Cape Town music education company that offers lessons in instruments such as guitar, piano, drums, ukulele, bass guitar, and marimba. Mobile Music Academy provides group and individual lessons, equipment rental, and music education at homes and partner schools across Cape Town.
My teaching style is built around the idea that learning music should be exciting, practical, and fun. I aim to introduce my students to the wonderful world of marimba music while helping them build confidence, rhythm, teamwork, creativity, and a real love for playing awesome tunes. I believe that students learn best when they are enjoying themselves, so I always try to make lessons energetic, interactive, and full of music that inspires them.
In 2025, I launched and developed The Marimba Studio, an online virtual marimba platform created to help students, families, teachers, and musicians practise, explore, and create without always needing access to a physical marimba. The platform was built from a real challenge I experienced as a teacher: many students only get to play a marimba during their weekly lesson, and owning a marimba at home is not practical or affordable for everyone. The Marimba Studio gives learners a way to continue practising at home while keeping the joy of music at the centre of the experience.
The Marimba Studio includes playable Alto, Tenor, and Bass marimbas, song learning tools, recording features, playback, creative practice tools, Rumble Points, badges, achievements, leaderboards, and other interactive features designed to make learning more enjoyable and rewarding. Its heart is simple: Play. Learn. Create.
At the beginning of 2025, I also launched my own web development agency, Rumble Websites. Through Rumble Websites, I design and develop professional websites for businesses that need a clean, fast, polished, and practical online presence. The service includes custom website design, hosting, email support, SEO-friendly structure, performance-focused development, and ongoing support, helping businesses present themselves clearly and confidently online.
Before building websites for clients, I built and managed my own creative projects, which gave me firsthand experience in what businesses and creators really need from a website. I understand both the creative side of making something memorable and the practical side of making sure a website is clear, reliable, easy to use, and built around real goals. Rumble Websites grew from that experience, offering a more personal, affordable, and flexible approach to web design and development.
In 2018, I launched my first album, Elements of Marimbas, a project that marked an important step in my journey as a marimba musician and producer. The album features original marimba music and helped establish my creative identity as The Rumble God. My current music catalogue continues to reflect my passion for marimba performance, composition, rhythm, and musical storytelling.
Music has shaped who I am, but technology has opened new ways for me to share that passion with others. Whether I am performing on stage, teaching students in schools, producing music, developing virtual marimba tools, or building websites for businesses, everything I do is driven by creativity, growth, and the desire to make something useful and inspiring.
My journey is still growing, and I am excited to keep building, teaching, performing, and creating. Through my music, my lessons, The Marimba Studio, and Rumble Websites, I hope to inspire others to learn, create, and believe in what they can achieve.
